Navotas is a city in Metro Manila that’s located in the upper part of the region. This city is often dubbed as the “Fishing Capital of the Philippines”. The livelihood here is also related to fishing like fish net mending. Well, most people think that this place is not for people who are looking for sports and leisure. That’s what many think – which is contrary to what this review is going to tackle about. Have this crossed your mind, that golfing can be popular in a city where fishing is the primary livelihood? If you think not, then you’re right. It would be much better to discover that Navotas is now revamping some of its tourist attractions and features, right? So if you’re an avid golf player and would also want to see Manila Bay’s shoreline, the best that you can do is to wait.

Golfing in Navotas might be an absurd idea for most people. But I say, it would be a great way to improve the city’s tourism. The “Fishing Capital of the Philippines” is already an edge to attract tourists. But after that, what comes next? One should not only aim to make the tourist stay in one place but rather, think of ways on how make the tourist stay LONGER. Putting up more attractions is one key. We all know that American tourists flock in the Philippines anytime, right? Well, here’s a hint, Americans love golfing too!

Business Opportunities for Navotas Residents – Huge tourist rate really helps the place’s livelihood and I’ve known that idea ever since. Just think about this, if a lot of tourists are visiting here just to go golfing in Navotas, then it would be a great opportunity for the residents. They can put up a small business near the golf courses where the tourists can buy, rent or apply for the services. The city will be a lot busier than before. I remember when a national park was established in our town and a lot of tourists flocked in this tour spot. Since then, I’ve seen a lot of people selling different kinds of food (merienda) like bananaque, roasted corn, etc. People in our town grabbed that opportunity to have an income.

A “Higher” Level for the City – I’m not saying that Navotas is not that popular but come to think of this, we know that when a city has golf courses, then it has upscale societies, right? If golfing in Navotas would be made possible, the city would have that higher level and distinction. That’s because golf is a sport for upscale people.

These are just pointers on how to make Navotas a truly wonderful city. But surely, that time will come and when it does, more people can proudly say: “I’ll go golfing in Navotas!”.
